Responsibilities

Works with leaders across the enterprise and collaborates with MJHS Foundation staff in identifying foundation and individual philanthropy that can support needs for research or innovative programs across the system. Attends conferences and industry events to develop strong relationships that can bolster our grant and partnership opportunities.

 

Develops deep knowledge of our business to both identify opportunities and develop or edit grant proposals that accurately reflect the needs and make a strong case for receiving funding or other support. Leverages knowledge of MJHS business and research needs to develop relationships with foundations and other funders to acquire grants to support our mission and vision. Writes LOIs (Letter of Intent) and grant proposals and budgets and is responsible for timely submission of grants and supporting material.  Works with MJHS Finance to ensure timely and accurate grant stewardship, including monitoring and reporting budgets and developing narrative reports, as required by the funder. Prepares presentation for internal and external stakeholders to highlight relevant work and progress and advance grant activity.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree and relevant experience in healthcare, non-for-profit sector or relevant skill set. Master’s degree in healthcare administration, business administration or public health field is preferred.
  • 5 or more years of experience in the healthcare industry, fundraising, grant-writing or other relevant industries
  • Microsoft Suite – proficiency in Excel, Power Point, Visio, Power BI preferred. 

  • Strong writing and analytical skills.

  • Advanced grant making and writing skills.
